Christmas for Businesses?

As individuals, we all have wishes we'd like fulfilled and at Christmas, we hope that some of those arrive as gifts.  But, what about businesses?  In my professional consulting, I hear a great deal of wishing going on for an improved economic environment.

An empowering small business resource available to you is your ability to harness the enthusiasm and creativity of your employees towards a common goal.  With the coming of the New Year, the timing is right as individuals as well as companies feel inspired to reach for improved areas of personal or professional achievement.  Some companies may wish to lower costs.  Action generated out of inspiration is far more motivating and uniting.  As a Sustainability Consultant, I can't think of a better way than to introduce eco awareness into your business by taking action that is good for the environment as well as reducing costs for the company.  Waste reduction, energy efficiency, commuting , and work from home, are all options to consider.

Interestingly enough, taking action towards a sustainable business also aligns you with other companies on the same path.  How many of your customers, vendors, and other stakeholders are already participating as an environmental business?  Would working with them create synergies or even new revenue paths for your company? These are some ideas to get you started on those business Christmas wishes coming to fruition.
