Do you Bamboo?

Take for instance, sleeping and bathing.  Most of us sleep on a mattress with linens and use towels to dry off after a refreshing shower or bath.  Periodically, towels need to be replaced.  Maybe not so frequently, but mattresses need to be replaced as well.  Replace these items with sustainable materials and from companies that adhere to sustainable best practices.

Just today I was introduced to GoodFibers. They offer bamboo bath towels and bamboo kitchen towels that are eco-friendly and luxurious natural products.  Two of my favorite sites for organic bedding and organic mattresses are Lifekind and Janice's.  With eco consciousness on the rise, there are plenty of sites, stores, and local shops to choose from.

Going green and integrating sustainable concepts into your life can be fun!  Especially when it involves replacing items with those that are good for you and equally as good for the planet.

Great comments and it is very nice of you to mention GoodFibers. We believe that it is important for all to get involved with decreasing our individual footprints. Bamboo is a very sustainable crop and improves the air as it grows. It can be harvested without being replanted. Bamboo is a member of the grass family and sends up new shoots from the root system. If you are not a fan of Bamboo then make sure that you look for organic cotton. Conventional cotton accounts for less than 3% of the earths agricultural crops but uses 24% of the chemical insecticides, pesticides and herbicides. This cannot be good for the planet. So whether it is bamboo or cotton, please make a green choice.
