As a personal consultant, I know  people like participating in community.  Sometimes, the pathway to rewarding participation in community isn't always clear.  Take for example, when you go to a wedding, it’s a wonderful feeling to give gifts knowing you are helping a couple start off their life together.  It's a clear, designated way to demonstrate love and support for the couple.  However, in everyday life, the contribution path isn't always so clear.  Nor is the reciprocal appreciation factor.  If you give, it feels good to be acknowledged.

So, how does twitter, your nomination and green accelerate eco awareness?

A nomination for the twitter award, knows as The Shorty Award, is an acknowledgment that strengthens the green, CSR, sustainability community.  It demonstrates a bond among like minded people.   Participation invites further exploration of thought, solutions, innovations that may not germinate in less cohesive groups and communities.

As a sustainability consultant, I view the circular reciprocation of those tweeting, retweeting and nominating as a closed loop circuit generating mutually reciprocal acknowledgment that accelerates eco awareness.  It's working together in an innovative manner utilizing the power of twitter.

The greater volume of votes on twitter in environmental and business sustainability categories communicates that eco awareness is rising and here to stay.   Voting is twitter-based. So if you have a twitter account, please vote!  Vote often!
