Saddle Up! May is National Bike Month

image: cycling as commuting optionAs a cycling enthusiast and sustainability consultant, I cherish the month of May because it is celebrated as National Bike Month.   Each year in May, the League of American Bicyclists (LAB) celebrates National Bike Month.  It's a great way to introduce cycling as a sustainability concept in people's lives creating awareness of the benefits of cycling in living a sustainable lifestyle as well as helping the environment.  
 
Mark your calendar now: Bike-to-Work Week is May 11-15 and Bike-to-Work Day is Friday, May 15.  To celebrate National Bike Month, several upcoming blog posts will focus on the benefits of cycling, introduction to bike shops as sustainable businesses, resources for sustainable cycling clothing, organic cycling snacks, commuting options, and more!
