Safety Managment Plan

Friday, January 23, 2009 by Julie Urlaub
From a very early age, we are taught who to tell and what numbers to call in case of an emergency.  These lessons become part of our early development and our common knowledge as children.  We act on these teachings without thinking.

In our adult life and in our business, things come up from time to time for which we need to be prepared.   The answers to some basic questions can make a huge difference:

  • What do I do in case of and emergency?
  • Who do I call?
  • Are there specific process, procedure, and/or a plan?
  • Where can I go to get this information?
Building a sustainable business or just a more sustainable life includes being prepared for bumps along the way.  At Taiga Company we believe that a business sustainability plan includes safety.  A safety management plan is a good practice at home and in your business.  A plan can include what to do in case of:

  • Accident or Medical Emergency
  • Fire
  • Sever Weather
  • Suspicious Package
  • Suspicious Persons
  • Threats

Working as a professional consultant with small businesses and large organizations, we at Taiga Company have seen a variety of safety plans put into action.  The ones that we have seen to be the most successful have one sustainability concept in common.

Successful safety management plans are supported by a strong safety culture.  The health and welfare of yourself, your family, your employees, and the community is a top priority.

Taiga Company views safety management as a key business sustainability practice.
